Inaugural Race for the Spike & 2nd Annual Frisco 5-Card Bicycle Poker Ride

Race the train in the first-ever “Race for the Spike” 8-mile bicycle race on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. The Arkansas & Missouri Railroad train will leave the Springdale depot for Rogers at the same time the cyclists will leave Rogers on a out-and-back flat course. Pit yourself against the steel wheels of the engine because the prize railroad spikes go to those who beat it back to downtown Rogers!

For those looking for a more leisurely pace, try the “Frisco 5-Card Bicycle Poker Ride” starting at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25. You’ll collect five playing cards along the six-mile route, and those with the best poker hand at the end win fabulous prizes!

Both rides start and end at the intersection of Poplar and Arkansas streets in downtown Rogers. Fees for both events are $15 for adults (16 and older) and $7 for children ages 10-15. Proceeds from the rides benefit the Rogers Community Bike Program, which refurbishes recycled bikes for free public use on the city’s trail system. A T-shirt and goody bags will be provided to the first 70 riders to register.
